The Renishaw QC10 ball bar is a portable tool used for the quick and simple diagnostic testing of a machine tool’s positioning performance. It measures the machine’s circular accuracy to help identify and quantify common errors like backlash, servo mismatch, and scaling issues. The Renishaw QC2-W is the wireless version of the QC10. It offers the same precise diagnostic capabilities but eliminates the cable, making setup faster and easier while removing a potential source of snagging or error during the test. In short, both are used for fast machine tool calibration and diagnostics, with the QC2-W providing the added convenience of wireless operation.
